Once upon a time, there was a man called Raju, who used to own a scrap business. His work was to collect scrap from different people and sell it for his living. His store was located near a forest. He always used to be sad thinking about his life as he always dreamt of being rich and earning a lot of money.
Once, few people came to cut down trees in the nearby forest, and the cut-down trees were piled up beside his store. One day, he was sitting outside his store, thinking about his life. His agony was, he didn’t want to continue the scarp business which his father and forefather has given to him. All he has with him was scrap, and he didn’t know what to do with it.
Sure, selling it gives him some money, but he wasn’t satisfied with it, as he just had to sell something which people already sold to him. He wanted to use that scarp for something. But nothing was falling into place as he didn’t know what to do. To him, scarp was a piece of metal which was of no use for him.
One day, after having lunch at his house, he heard a soothing voice coming from the direction of his store. He started running towards it to see what the source of such beautiful music is. As he stepped towards the store, he has seen pieces of metal strings, wood and metal sheet were lying down. He was worried if someone was stealing his scarp metals. As he rushed towards the store, he has seen a boy playing with an instrument.
The instrument in the boy’s hand was made of wood that was in front of his store, strings and metal pieces which were lying in his store. The boy took those raw materials and built a musical instrument that creates a soothing sound. This act of boy stunned Raju, as for him, those metal pieces, strings and wood were separate materials, but for the boy, those were the raw materials which can be converted into a musical instrument.
This made Raju realise that he already had everything he needed to build something new. It was his task to assemble and in an appropriate way. After looking at metal pieces and strings and wood, he constructed fencing around his store, and a shed to cover his store from heavy rain and sunlight. And started another business, which was to provide a fence to nearby farmers.
Moral: We will not be able to find any meaning if we perceive fragments separately. But as soon as we can bring them together and understand the connection between them, a new entity emerges. Same is the case with writing exams. Reading remembering and writing, if all these three come together with the proper connection between them will bring the best out of you.
