To meet the crisis afflicting the country’s economy due to COVID-19, the Government will borrow the amount of Rs 4.34 lakh crore in the current fiscal year said by the Ministry of Finance. The borrowing is a loan taken by the Government to fund its spending on public services and benefits. Borrowing falls under capital receipts in the Budget document. Borrowing is done through the issue of government securities called G-secs and Treasury Bills.
