Story of a young Buffalo- Face your fears.

Title: Facing Your Fears: The Story of Young Buffalo.

One day, on the plains of Africa, a young buffalo named Buldo approached his dad, Walter and asked him if there was anything that he should be afraid of. “Only lions my son,” said Walter. “Oh yes, I’ve heard about lions. If I ever come across one, I’ll turn and run as fast as I can,” said Buldo. “No, that’s the worst thing which you can do, when you see a lion,” said Walter. “Why? They are very scary and will try to kill me right? Why shouldn’t I run? Asked Buldo”.

Then Walter smiled and explained, “Buldo, if you run away, the lions will chase you and catch you. And when they do, they will jump on your unprotected back and bring you down.” Buldo thought for a second and asked, “So what should I do?” If you ever come across a lion, stand on your ground to show the lion that you’re not at all afraid of him. If he doesn’t move away, show him your sharp horns and stomp the ground with your hooves. If that doesn’t work, move slowly towards him. If that doesn’t work, charge him and hit him with everything you’ve got!” After hearing to all this, Buldo said, “That’s crazy. I’ll be too scared to do that. What if he strikes me back?” said the startled young buffalo.

“Look around, Buldo. What do you see?” Buldo looked around at the rest of his herd. There were about 200 massive beasts all armed with sharp horns and enormous shoulders. “If ever you’re afraid, know that we are here. If you panic and run from your fears, not even we, in fact, no one can save you, but if you charge towards your fears, we’ll be right behind you.” Buldo then breathed deeply and nodded.

“Thanks, Dad, I think I understand.” We all have lions in our worlds. Many things in life scare us and make us want to turn our back on them and run, but if we do, they will chase us down and take over our lives. Our thoughts will be dominated by the things that we are afraid of, and we lack courage and become more cautious, not allowing us to reach our full potential. So we need to face our fears. Show them that we’re not afraid. Show them how powerful we are. And strike them with courage and boldness, knowing that we are supporting you and cheering you on.
