7 Stages of Self Growth to Achieve Success

Almost everyone wants to achieve more in their lives, just a few of them know that there are certain stages of self-growth and it takes a lot of time, work and patience to keep on improving ourselves.

When it comes to self-growth, most of the time, people think about achieving their short-term goals. But it’s a lifelong process which never ends. The more you know, the better, and the key principle of self-growth is to obtain knowledge, improve skills, and step out of your comfort zone. Thus, it’s a tough thing to do even though it pays off.

Although you might have various reasons for self-growth, the most important one is that self-development can change your life for better. Self-growth needs a lot of time, patience and effort, but it pays off only if you are a determined person who keeps on improving yourself day by day. Self-growth is a long process with specific stages of self-growth and knowing which stage you are in is very important if you want to take another step and move onto the next level.

Here are the stages of self Growth.

1: Self-Knowledge: Gaining knowledge from various sources.

The first stage of self-growth, where you start thinking about your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and analyzing yourself. Self-knowledge aids you in understanding yourself better. Try to learn more about your needs, and make the decision whether you want to achieve more or not. Self Improvement is impossible without self-knowledge as you need to know where you’re moving to improve your skills and knowledge.

2: Comparison: Always compare yourself with yourself to check if you achieved your growth or not.

Once you know yourself, your next step is to compare your today self to yesterday’s self. This comparison will give you a measure of how much growth you have attained. The key to success is to compare yourself to yourself, which helps you to analyze your wins and loses. When you know your weak points, you can work on them to change them and become a better person.

3: Modification: Improvising your skills.

If you want to start developing your skills, you are in the third of the stages of self-growth. When you start thinking about changing your life for good by improving your knowledge, skills, and competencies, modification begins. It doesn’t matter what the reason for the changes is. Whether it is an inspiration from top billionaires or struggling for a better life, the modification stage allows you to give a try to develop, and it’s an essential step toward growth.

4: Acceptance:

Now that you know what you want to achieve in your life, and you might know what kind of effort and time it takes to start changing for better. You know your weaknesses, strengths, and you’re ready to accept them. After all, nobody is perfect, and there is no need to blame yourself for who you are. Self-acceptance helps you value yourself.

If you know what you want to improve, the next thing you need to do is, roll up your sleeves.

5: Planning

What do you want to do? Do you want to learn a foreign language? Or do you want to learn a new skill? No matter what your choice is, you need to prioritize your goals and plan the growth.

  • Set your short- and long-term goals
  • Write a plan
  • Put down your achievements

Planning is vital in your self paced personality development as it helps you move in the right direction and analyze your results.

6: Reaching Your Potential

Self-growth needs hardworking and fighting against your doubts and fears. When you step out of your comfort zones, you reach your full potential. To grow daily, recognize your value and self-worth. Give a try to all things that grab your interest even if you are phobic to failure. You will not know your talent until you give a try. However, you must develop patience as growing as a person is impossible when you are pressed for time.

7: Self-Growth

If you have moved through all stages of self-growth, you start growing as a person as you have your goals, plans, and desire to keep on developing. This is the last stage as personal growth doesn’t have time frames. As it is said, the sky is the limit, and you can never reach it as well as know everything for sure. If self-growth is high on your list, never give up and keep on achieving more and more. After all, it is a continuous process that helps you keep a work-life balance and stay a happy person, no matter what obstacles you face.
