What do you do when you blank out during an exam? Curse yourself for forgetting what you have learnt? Well, you don’t have to do that anymore, because Winspire will help you out. Here are some tips & tricks that we came across conversions that will make remembering things a lot easier.
Find a pattern for : Whenever you come across a huge piece to learn which is in a sequence, try to find a pattern. Associating a lot of information to a set word or an image, helps you recall better. For instance, the measurement chart of metric conversions goes:
Metric Conversion: Kilo – Hecta – Deca – Metre – Deci – Centi – Mili
A lot of us get confused while doing these conversions. We forget how many tens or hundreds come between these values. Remember, that the difference between each value is that of 10. Now as you move further, add a zero. So, Kilo to Hecta is 10 units. Kilo to Deca is 100 units. If you get confused in understanding which is the higher unit, make this chart in the rough column of your notebook vertically, with the highest value at the top:
Add a rhythm or music: Even if we make an 80-year-old tell us all the alphabets of the English language, he too will probably ‘sing’ it like a five-year-old. Try saying A to Z yourself? Did you sing it too? Music is one of the most effective methods of learning, remember how a popular ad of a bathing bar, made remembering the names of Mughal Emperors so simple? Similarly, add a tune to anything, could be a huge answer that you’re struggling to recall. Sing it out loud to yourself.
Sticky Notes: If the above methods aren’t for you, then try this. Get coloured ‘Post-It’s or page markers. Write what you don’t want to forget and put it up on your table or cupboard. Or let it be on the particular chapter you’re studying. Try using different colours of paper and pen for this. This will help you link the topic to your colour code.
